Travis is a native of Northeastern Wisconsin and has been actively involved in fishing since his childhood. In 2010, he fished the Bassmaster Northern Opens to gain exposure to higher levels of competition. Travis placed fourth in points which qualified him for the Bassmaster Elite Series. Since then, he moved to Southeastern, Pennsylvania where he operates a Bass Fishing Guide Service and owns the SmallmouthCrush Brand.
As a licensed United States Coast Guard Captain, he offers guided trips on the Upper Chesapeake Bay for largemouth bass. He also offers trophy Smallmouth trips in Upstate New York on Lake Ontario and The St Lawrence River. On average, Travis is on the water over 200 days per year.
With over 6 million views on his YouTube Channel, his fans can watch his tournament practices and competitions, and tune into his “on-the-water” training videos. They can also tune into very entertaining LIVE streams with his co-host Eric Galasso, aka Epic Eric from his Bass Lab. These Live streams feature unique products, special guests, in-depth tackle talk and hilarious banter.
What makes his brand unique to the viewers is the fact that Travis talks about all brands and techniques–without holding anything back! His viewers appreciate the fact that he is not a one brand angler who only talks about “X” company and how great they are. As a successful entrepreneur and certified tackle junkie, Eric has one of the largest collections of crankbaits in the country. His overall knowledge of domestic and JDM bass fishing tackle and techniques has captured the attention of SmallmouthCrush viewers.
Several of his SmallmouthCrush livestreams on crankbaits, buzz baits, and others rate as some of the most viewed in these categories on the channel. His bait hacks, tricks, and customizations are topflight in the bass fishing community. The engagement on his Instagram profile ranks among the best in this niche market.
Eric is not only a collector and creator, but he is also a successful hardcore team tournament angler. Over the past three years, he has teamed up with Scooter Lilley from CWW Inshore Charters to dominate the local NC Team Tournament trails–Scooter and Eric are consistently in the money. Last year, they won the two-day Bojangles Classic on Lake Gaston while also capturing the points Championship for 2020.
When Eric joins LIVE streams, he frequently streams from The Bass Lab. The Bass Lab background features his immense lure collection, customized baits, and unique creations.
Eric is also a collaborator. Most recently, he teamed up with TK Stanley from Tackle Kraft to release a custom painted line of Epic Eric Bass Lab crankbaits based on Eric’s colorways that he created in the Bass Lab. During two Live Streams on Smallmouth Crush, those custom crankbaits sold out in fifteen minutes.
Eric is also collaborating with Marty Burns, aka The BIG M, a custom balsa crankbait maker to release the EPIC Shad which is an oversized cover cranking balsa plug. He has several other projects in the works including the Shakey Jig Worm and Ratified Rat wake bait.
